Hi,

My name is Ashley Brown.

I’m a Utah native hailing from Pleasant Grove. I spent my childhood playing in the foothills of Mount Timpanogos. Access to the wilderness from a young age molded my life around natural exploration.

It’s a delight and honor to call the Wasatch Mountains and mystical red deserts of Southern Utah home.

A love of wilderness and the call to stewardship influence every facet of my writing and recreating. It is in the quiet of wild places where I find wholeness. I rely on time rambling in the mountains for rejuvenation. I find vision and drive while climbing cliffs and alpine routes or splitboarding the iconic Wasatch Mountains.

My journalistic specialty is seeking out truth and writing features that spotlight leaders making a positive impact in the world. From entrepreneurs to artists to athletes, I relish writing stories about people who shine.

A deep appreciation for music and arts supplements my time in nature. Creating plant-based meals, especially with produce from the backyard garden, is one of my favorite pastimes. When I’m not playing outside, interviewing a community rockstar, or whipping up a vegan feast, I might be soaking in a novel, playing chess over a bottle of wine, or on the dance floor soaking up live music.

I live with my husband, Chris Brown, in Salt Lake City, where I contribute to local and national publications and delight in writing love poems to nature.
