Red Butte Garden is one of 42 hikes featured in Urban Trails: Salt Lake City. During this guided stroll through Red Butte Garden, you will explore the garden at a leisurely pace, allowing plenty of time to get to know the local flora and fauna. Plan to practice identifying native plant life using a field guide or a plant identification app (Seek is an excellent free resource). Enjoy the morning avian chorus, and learn the names of birds using the free identification app, Merlin Bird ID (if you have a field guide you'd prefer to use, please bring it along). We will finish our saunter through the garden with a quiet creative reflection period with prompts for poetry, pros, rambles, sketches, and observations. Participants will receive a notebook and writing tool (if you have sketching materials, please feel free to bring them along). Copies of Urban Trails: Salt Lake City will be available for purchase (credit card or Venmo).
